“I think I chalk it up to the love that we have in this locker room, the respect that we have for each other, and the fear of letting each other down. I think that’s what it comes down to. Everyone cares about their jobs here, everyone cares about each other in this locker room, and ultimately, when we’re out there, we’re truly playing for each other,” Allen said.
The unselfishness of this team has been well-documented throughout the course of the season. From the “everybody eats” mantra that offensive coordinator Joe Brady started with this team back in training camp, to a startling lack of drama surrounding this roster this season, the Bills have been a dialed in, team-first organization all season. Never once has there been a peep of any player wanting anything from themselves over the good of the team.
As veteran wide receiver Amari Cooper said of the team earlier in the week, “ego dies and the pride’s put aside for the sake of the team.”
This Bills team has truly embodied that attitude throughout the season. No matter what the outcome is on Sunday, this has been a special team with a special bond. It has led to a ton of success this season, led by a glued together roster that truly fights and competes for each other. Here’s hoping it’s enough to keep the good vibes going all the way to the Super Bowl.
