Baltimore Ravens Announce Big Coaching News Amid Super Bowl Week.THANHDUNG

The Baltimore Ravens are fresh off another disappointing result in the playoffs, as their season came to an end in the divisional round when they suffered a crushing 27-25 loss to the Buffalo Bills. On Monday, the team shared some good news with their fans involving offensive coordinator Todd Monken.

In his second year with the team, Monken helped Baltimore’s offense, particularly Lamar Jackson and Derrick Henry, reach new heights. Monken drew some interest as a head coach across the league, and while he ultimately didn’t land one of the vacant gigs, he got a strong message of support from Ravens head coach John Harbaugh.

“Todd Monken will be a great head coach,” Harbaugh said. “He’s an old-school football coach with kind of a new school and a great mind. Always creative. He works well with his staff. I’m really excited about 3.0, that iteration of this offense going forward. We found ourselves through the last offseason and this season in terms of how we want to organize the offense and tie it all together.”

Last week, reports emerged that Monken was closing in on a contract extension with the Ravens. Sure enough, those reports proved to be true, as Baltimore officially announced that they had agreed to a contract extension that will keep Monken in town as their offensive coordinator.

“OC Todd Monken has signed a contract extension to stay in Baltimore!” the team announced in a post on X, formerly known as Twitter.

Monken has a long rap sheet of coaching experience, as he was the Georgia Bulldogs offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach for three years before latching on with the Ravens in 2023.

Prior to that, Monken spent time in the NFL with the Cleveland Browns and Tampa Bay Buccaneers as their offensive coordinator. And now, it looks like he’s set to stay with the Ravens for at least one more season after the two sides agreed to a new deal.
