Jerry Jones has not been able to lead his Dallas Cowboys to become a Super Bowl contender in three decades.

Travis Kelce and the Kansas City Chiefs are gearing up for Super Bowl LIX. At the same time, the Dallas Cowboys, a team that has been christened as ‘America’s Team’, had a disastrous season. Then owner Jerry Jones fired his head coach despite deflecting criticism all season that pointed at his offseason mistakes.

Jerry Jones let go of Mike McCarthy as he did not want to give him a long-term deal. That was after the owner-cum-GM was miffed that his head coach was being courted by a couple of other teams. All this while, and despite having a horrible season, the Cowboys continued to surge in value.

Some have revealed that the theatrics and being in the news is more important to the 82-year-old owner. But he and his PR team continue to claim that it is not true, and that they want to win a Super Bowl. Now, one of Kelce’s position group teammates, Peyton Hendershot reveals what it is like to play for the Cowboys.

The 3rd year tight end was speaking from the two seasons he spent with the Dallas Cowboys coming out of Indiana. While playing for ‘America’s team’ as a backup tight end, he even found that the events and patrons was what made the Cowboys culture. Completely different to what he has seen with the Chiefs.

Dallas Cowboys star Micah Parsons said after their season ended that they would win the Super Bowl next season. However, consider how the team is being run, fans and analysts took shots at the star pass rusher for his comments.

None of the players from the Dallas Cowboys have even been to a Championship game in the past few seasons. But Peyton Hendershot becomes one rare former player who joined the Kansas City Chiefs and now finds himself in Super Bowl LIX.

He might not play a major role in the game considering Travis Kelce and Noah Gray are ahead of him in the pecking order. But if the Chiefs win, he will be able to wear a Super Bowl ring. That is something the likes of Micah Parsons and other Cowboys players won’t experience for some time.

Jerry Jones has come under a lot of criticism for the way he runs the team. But as long as he is at the helm, many believe America’s team won’t be competitive enough. How he attacks this upcoming offseason will show whether he wants to change that narrative.
