On Thursday night Detroit Lions quarterback Jared Goff suffered another significant loss this offseason, losing the NFL’s MVP award to Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen.
In addition to losing MVP, the Lions quarterback will be adjusting to life without Ben Johnson, whom he praised this week, after Johnson left to become the head coach of the Chicago Bears.
“He’s a hell of a coach, he’s made a ton of difference in my career, I’m obviously a big fan of his” Goff said of his former offensive coordinator. “I was joking with him, I wish he didn’t have to be in our division so I didn’t have to try and beat him twice a year. He’s going to do a great job, hopefully not too good though, with us being in the division together still. I’ll always be a fan of his and we’ll always have a good relationship.”
It’s not all bad news for Goff, though.
Goff and his wife, model Christen Harper, rolled up to the red carpet at NFL Honors on Thursday night and immediately turned heads.
As the couple walked on the red carpet, fans noticed that Harper was holding her belly, as if to signal she was pregnant. NFL insider Jeff Darlington confirmed the news with a post on social media.
“Congratulations to Christen and Jared Goff, who will welcome their first baby this offseason! Christen and Jared are here on the red carpet for NFL Honors, where Jared is nominated for MVP and Man of the Year. An exciting time for two amazing people will make such great parents,” Darlington said.
The NFL posted a photo of the couple on social media, to which Harper responded, “Hot date,” while tagging Goff.
Goff might have lost his offensive coordinator and the MVP award, but life is still pretty good.
