UPDATE: Chiefs Cut 7 Players Day After Super Bowl Blowout…TS.DHUNG.

New Photo of Chiefs Sideline Reaction Turns Heads During Super Bowl Blowout - Athlon Sports

Just a few days after suffering a devastating defeat at the hands of the Philadelphia Eagles, Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce admitted he’d take some time away from the game to consider retirement.

“I know everybody wants to know whether I’m playing next year, and right now, I’m just kicking everything down the road. I’m kicking every can I can down the road. I’m not making any crazy decisions,” Kelce said on the “New Heights” podcast.

“…I’ve been fortunate over the past five, six years — I’ve played more football than anybody. It’s because of the people that are in that building. The fact that we keep going to these AFC championships and these Super Bowls, that means I’m playing an extra three games more than everybody else in the entire league. That’s a lot of wear and tear on your body, and it’s a lot of time spent in the building, focusing on your craft, focusing on the task at hand and every challenge that you set up for yourself.”

As Kelce considers his next move, the Chiefs are already busy with overhauling the roster. Kansas City reached future deals with 11 players after the 40-22 loss to the Eagles in the Super Bowl.

Quarterback Chris Oladokun, wide receivers Jason Brownlee, Justyn Ross and Tyquan Thornton, tight end Baylor Cupp, tackle Chukuebuka Godrick, defensive linemen Siaki Ika and Fabien Lovett Sr., cornerbacks Darius Rush and Eric Scott Jr., and safety Deon Bush were inked to futures deals.

Unfortunately, there were seven players released from the team after the game as well. Linebackers Swayze Bozeman and Cole Christiansen, tight end Anthony Firsker, running back Keontay Ingram, cornerbacks Nic Jones and Steven Nelson and wide receiver Montrell Washington were all cut.
