In December 2024, Randy Moss, the legendary former Vikings player and current ESPN analyst, announced that he was stepping away from work to undergo treatment for bile duct cancer. After successful surgery and treatment, Moss returned to ESPN’s Sunday NFL Countdown in early February 2025, receiving a warm welcome from colleagues and fans.
Around the same time, Vikings head coach Kevin O’Connell also had to step away from his role to undergo treatment for stage-three lung cancer. Following surgery and a successful recovery, O’Connell has now returned to the team, ready to lead the Vikings through a crucial phase of the season.
