REPORT: Pittsburgh Steelers interested in signing former Georgia star.THANHDUNG

There are plenty of former Georgia Bulldogs stars playing in the NFL right now. Up until last season, one of the best was running back Nick Chubb.

Throughout his entire career leading up to the gruesome knee injury that he suffered, Chubb was a legitimate star. He was a superstar when the injury occurred and one of the most feared players in the entire league.

Unfortunately, the injury set him back. He was able to return to play eight games during the 2024 season for the Cleveland Browns, but he did not look like himself.

In the eight games that he played in 2024, he carried the football 102 times for 332 yards and three touchdowns. Those numbers average out to just 3.3 yards per carry.

Now, Chubb is set to hit the free agency market this offseason. Where could he end up? The Browns are expected to have interest in re-signing him to a short-term deal, but there is another team starting to emerge as a potential destination.

Jeff Hathhorn of 93.7 The Fan believes that the Pittsburgh Steelers could have interest in signing the former Georgia standout.

“I’ll throw out a name of someone I know that they’re interested in, and at least talking to,” Hathhorn said. “The medicals would have to play out, and obviously, it would be a decision, but Nick Chubb is someone they would consider. …We’re talking about probably a one-year deal, a prove-it deal, an opportunity to get back on your feet. But there is interest.”

Seeing Chubb make the move from Cleveland to the arch-rival Steelers would be a wild offseason move. However, it’s something to keep an eye on.

At the end of the day, there is still a chance that Chubb could bounce back after a full offseason of healthy recovery. If Pittsburgh believes that he can do that, then it should pursue him.

Chubb, when healthy, is a dominant offensive force. The Steelers would be wise to take a flier on him.

Expect to hear a lot of rumors about Chubb as the offseason picks up speed. The Browns would like to bring him back, but Pittsburgh and other potential suitors could swoop in and offer a better deal to steal him away.
