BREAKING: NBA Announces Punishment After Knicks-Celtics
Posted: 2025-2-25

With this win, the Celtics are now up 3-0 in their season series against the Knicks and are primed for their fourth consecutive top-two finish in the Eastern Conference. There is a lot of basketball left, but things are looking good in Boston.
The Knicks, on the other hand, are not in as great of a spot. They are 0-7 against the top three teams in the NBA and are in danger of falling in the standings. Furthermore, as if their loss to the Celtics was not bad enough on its own, one of their players received a punishment from the league that was announced after the game.
After the game, Knicks wing Josh Hart was fined $2,000 dollars by the NBA for his flop midway through the third quarter ( video link). For context, $2,000 is the minimum fine that can be handed down by the league.
“NYK’s Josh Hart was assessed a postgame Flopping fine of $2,000 upon league office review,” the NBA announced.
The NBA has been cracking down on flopping around the league, a development worth following in the future.
Hart and the Knicks will only have one more opportunity to avenge their loss against Boston on April 8 in Madison Square Garden. This is one of the final games of the season for both teams to could have major playoff implications.
