On Friday night at the Kia Center, the Golden State Warriors secured a valuable 121-115 victory over the Orlando Magic to extend their strong streak in the 2024-25 NBA season. Stephen Curry’s performance was outstanding, earning him significant recognition from head coach Steve Kerr.

“I think the fans here tonight, even the Magic fans, they know they’re witnessing the greatest shooter ever, and one of the greatest performers ever,” Kerr said during the post-game press conference, shared by the official NBA account on X.

The Warriors’ head coach, as well as the general public, remained in awe of Curry’s remarkable performance. In his 34 minutes on the court, the 36-year-old guard dominated the game, scoring 56 points, making 12 three-pointers, and posting a 63.2% shooting efficiency from beyond the arc.

It’s his 26th game with 10 or more threes, so we’re spoiled around here, and we’re used to it, but it never gets old watching, I can tell you that,” Kerr remarked about the milestone, reinforcing his belief that Curry is the best shooter in NBA history.

“He’s an incredible performer, and he put on quite a show tonight,” he added. “It’s not just the shots going in, it’s the fluidity, the beauty of his movement and motion, and his audacity, the shots that he’s willing to take.”

Curry enjoys playing basketball

Stephen Curry’s incredible performance warranted a special commemoration. After the game, the guard kept the ball as a trophy and souvenir from a night that will undoubtedly go down as one of the most unforgettable of his illustrious career.

After the 56-point performance vs. Magic, Curry revealed his feelings“I knew about the 50-point thing, which is a cool honor,” he said in an interview with Warriors Postgame Live“Just scoring the basketball—I love to do it. I love having nights like these, and I just want to soak it all in.”

The Warriors are serious contenders

In recent weeks, the Golden State Warriors have undergone a remarkable turnaround in their season outlook. After sitting near the bottom of the Western Conference and facing the threat of even missing the Play-In Tournament, they have quickly reversed their fortunes.

Particularly since Jimmy Butler‘s arrival, the Warriors have seen a massive improvement in their performances, now boasting a five-game winning streak. They have climbed to seventh place in the standings, just behind the Los Angeles Clippers, and are now poised to challenge for a playoff spot.
