BREAKING NEWS: Ravens Linebacker’s Cryptic Trade Post Goes Viral.THANHDUNG

The Baltimore Ravens are set to retool in free agency and the 2025 NFL Draft, hoping to find surplus value under every rock to help find new cap space and weaponize in the hunt for a Super Bowl championship.

That process is already underway. Offensive tackle Ronnie Stanley is expected to find a new home in free agency and safety Marcus Williams will almost certainly be released. Baltimore has been tasked with making the most of limited offseason resources, which could mean some surprising moves remain possible.

Could one of them be moving on from edge rusher Odafe Oweh?

There’s little reason for the fanbase to panic just yet, but the Ravens linebacker’s cryptic post went viral amid trade rumors.

Oweh broke his multiple-year Twitter silence to post a peace sign emoji on Friday night. Shortly after, he posted “Man I hope not … but God’s plan always wins.”

It isn’t immediately clear what Oweh is referring to, but that hasn’t stopped speculation about his time in Baltimore. However, it almost certainly isn’t about a pending release. Doing so wouldn’t be viable given the cap situation, costing the Ravens $13.25 million in dead money without any savings (regardless of a June 1 designation) due to the fifth-year option.

Oweh’s performance doesn’t make that any more likely. He posted 10 sacks and a forced fumble in 2024, the best year of his career.

Perhaps his comments are referring to a problematic contract extension and the potential trade spawning off of it. Oweh will likely expect to be paid among the several rising stars along the edge. His deployment, though, is more similar to Philadelphia Eagles edge rusher Bryce Huff, who was a rotational pass rusher that signed a three-year deal worth $51.5 million. In his first year in Philadelphia, his sacks dropped from 10 to 2.5. He was inactive for the Super Bowl.

Owen boasts a similar profile thanks to elite athletic gifts, rising production, and limited reps against the run; he may never be an every-down player. It’s possible that ends up being his ticket out of Baltimore.

If he is traded, he’d clear that $13.25 million in cap space without any dead cap ramifications, making it a possibility, albeit not an imminent one.
