The Philadelphia Eagles are World Champions for the second time and are finding out the cost of winning is high. General manager Howie Roseman stated at last week’s NFL Scouting Combine that the team would be undergoing some cost-cutting changes this offseason, and it appears it’s already begun.
The Eagles’ loss could be the Buccaneers’ gain.

Philadelphia released All-Pro corner Darius Slay in a salary cap move on Monday. “Big Play” Slay is a three-time Pro Bowler over the past five seasons in Philly, and of course, a Super Bowl champion.
The Bucs would love to add a ballhawk like Slay to the roster in 2025 to shore up the secondary, a unit that needs desperate attention.
Slay spent seven seasons in Detroit before being traded to the Eagles and has made his mark as one of the best at his position in the league.
Before the Super Bowl, Slay commented on his contract status and how much he has left in the tank.
“I’ve got one more left (on my contract), but you know how that works,” Slay originally said in the lead-up to Super Bowl LIX. “Whatever they want to do, I might re-sign back, hopefully. If I ain’t, we’ll see what I’m doing because I do want to play one more year, for sure.
