BREAKING: Bryce Harper Drops Bombshell Reveals Surprising Long-Term Plans for Phillies Contract Amid Speculations Of His…TS.DHUNG.

Philadelphia Phillies superstar Bryce Harper has made a major revelation about his future, silencing speculation regarding his long-term commitment to the franchise. As spring training heats up and the 2025 MLB season approaches, Harper has reaffirmed his desire to spend the rest of his career in Philadelphia—even beyond the expiration of his current contract.

Harper, who is entering the seventh season of his massive 13-year, $330 million contract, spoke with The Athletic’s Ken Rosenthal about his future. The eight-time All-Star and two-time NL MVP made it clear that he envisions himself in a Phillies uniform well past 2031, the final year of his deal.

“Halfway through (the contract), that’s pretty crazy,” Harper said. “Obviously, I want to play longer than what I’ve got left. I think everybody knows that.”

At 39 years old when his contract expires, Harper doesn’t plan on walking away from the game. He told Rosenthal that he intends to play “until his early 40s, somewhere in there,” and that if he has his way, he will finish his career in Philadelphia.

Since signing with the Phillies in 2019, Harper has delivered everything the franchise hoped for—and more. Over six seasons, he has posted:

  • 152 home runs
  • 455 RBIs
  • 450 walks
  • 65 stolen bases
  • .285/.391/.533 slash line
  • 23.3 WAR

His time in Philadelphia has been filled with MVP-caliber performances, including a 2021 NL MVP win, three Silver Slugger Awards, and clutch playoff heroics that helped lead the Phillies to a 2022 World Series appearance.

Even in 2024, Harper remained an elite force at the plate, smashing 30 home runs and tallying 87 RBIs—his best marks since his MVP season. With no signs of slowing down, it’s clear that Harper remains one of baseball’s premier sluggers.

Bryce Harper, Phillies Have Discussed Contract Extension; 'Matter Hardly Is Urgent'

Harper’s desire to stay in Philadelphia should be welcome news to Phillies fans, who have embraced him as the face of the franchise. He currently holds the fifth-best odds (+1500) to win the 2025 NL MVP, proving that oddsmakers still view him as an elite player.

With Harper leading the way and the Phillies still built for contention, both he and the team appear set for more deep postseason runs in the years ahead. If all goes according to plan, Bryce Harper’s name will remain in the Phillies’ lineup for the next decade—if not longer.
