GREEN BAY – Happy Mason Crosby Day to those who observe it. The veteran Green Bay Packers kicker officially ended his career on Friday. It was revealed on Wednesday that Crosby would retire from the NFL as a Packer. He dedicated 16 seasons to Green Bay from 2007 to 2022.

“Retiring as a Packer is my way of expressing that even though I might reside in another state now, I remain an ambassador,” Crosby shared in a post on X (formerly known as Twitter). “But now, instead of you cheering for me, it’s my turn to support and celebrate what’s being achieved in Wisconsin.

You’ll continue to see and hear from me, as I do my best to highlight the incredible things happening in the area, while also aiding essential groups in the community.” On Friday, Crosby addressed the media as he officially retired with the green and gold.

During Thursday’s episode of “The Pat McAfee Show,” co-host and former Packers linebacker A.J. Hawk expressed appreciation for Crosby and discussed his significance to the team. “People often take kickers and punters for granted. I remember many instances of feeling fortunate to have Mason Crosby,” said Hawk, who played alongside Crosby from 2007 to 2014.

“I can’t recall Mason missing a field goal… I realized how fortunate I was to have him as a teammate when it was something I never had to worry about.” Here are some other social media reactions to Crosby hanging up his cleats as a Green Bay Packer.
