Patriots Sign WR Mack Hollins to Two-Year Deal Worth Up to $10.4 Million

The New England Patriots have bolstered their receiving corps by agreeing to terms with wide receiver Mack Hollins on a two-year, $8.4 million contract, which could reach a maximum value of $10.4 million with incentives.

Hollins, 30, brings size, versatility, and experience to a Patriots team in need of reliable pass-catching options. The 6-foot-4 receiver has carved out a role as a deep threat and a physical presence in the passing game, as well as a valuable contributor on special teams.

Originally drafted by the Philadelphia Eagles in the fourth round of the 2017 NFL Draft, Hollins has since played for the Miami Dolphins, Las Vegas Raiders, and most recently, the Atlanta Falcons. In the 2023 season with the Falcons, he recorded 24 receptions for 300 yards in a limited role, showcasing his ability to make plays when called upon.

New England’s receiving unit struggled with consistency last season, and Hollins’ arrival provides quarterback Mac Jones (or a potential new starter) with another target who can stretch the field and make contested catches. His size and physicality could make him a key asset in the red zone, an area where the Patriots have lacked efficiency.

In addition to his offensive capabilities, Hollins is known for his leadership and high-energy personality, traits that could make him a positive presence in the Patriots’ locker room. His special teams experience also aligns with Bill Belichick’s philosophy of valuing versatility in his roster construction.

With free agency in full swing, the Patriots may not be done making moves at the wide receiver position, but adding Hollins gives them a dependable and experienced option heading into the 2024 season. Fans will be eager to see how he fits into the offensive scheme as the team looks to bounce back from a disappointing campaign.

Stay tuned for further updates as the Patriots continue shaping their roster for the upcoming season.
