On Saturday night, Jayson Tatum led the Boston Celtics to a 10-point victory against the Los Angeles Lakers. This win ended the Lakers’ winning streak at eight games and now gives Boston even more momentum as they approach the final month of the regular season.
The Celtics’ next game is on Monday night against the Utah Jazz. This will be their first matchup of the season. After their win against the Lakers, the Celtics will look to continue their recent trend and extend their winning streak to five games against Utah.
Before the game, however, the Celtics made an announcement on their star player that will be worth keeping an eye on until they are back in action on Monday.
After finishing in the top-six for MVP voting in each of the last three seasons, Tatum is putting together another solid campaign and is continuing to prove how essential he is to Boston’s success. However, the Celtics may have to take on the Jazz with their star on the sidelines as they have officially listed him as questionable for the game due to a knee injury.
Tatum has only missed one game in the calendar year but could be in danger of missing his second. The Duke alum played 45 minutes in the Celtics’ win against the Lakers, so it is possible that they are simply playing it as cautiously as they can. If Tatum is unable to go, the Celtics will rely more heavily on Jaylen Brown to carry the load.
