Chiefs DT Chris Jones recruiting former AFC West foe to Kansas City after he was released by rival Bills ahead of free agency 🔗⤵️ TS.DHUNG.

You can never have too many good pass rushers in the NFL.

Chiefs DT Chris Jones

One of the best of all-time, outside linebacker Von Miller, was just released by the Buffalo Bills on Sunday. Chiefs star defensive tackle Chris Jones didn’t waste any time calling Miller out on X to join him in Kansas City, by using emojis.

Of course, Jones may just be having some fun, but Miller joining the Chiefs is an intriguing thought. Miller has previously stated that one of the idols from his childhood was Chiefs Hall of Fame linebacker Derrick Thomas. Here’s what he said about Thomas back in 2018:

“He (Thomas) was a huge influence in my life…he was one of the best to ever do it,” Miller said. “When I first saw him play, I just thought that this was the guy I needed to be watching. One of my college coaches coached him and just told me to watch him. I had access to all kinds of film in college so I could do that. I would watch some of his interviews, too, and just thought that he would answer things exactly how I would have said it. It’s been a wrap ever since.”

Miller chose to wear No. 58 in honor of his role model Thomas. Unfortunately for Chiefs fans, Miller was drafted by the division rival Denver Broncos back in 2011. He then went on to play for another significant foe of Kansas City’s when he joined the Bills. Miller’s 129.5 career sacks rank 25th all-time, one spot ahead of Thomas’ 126.5.

Now 35-years-old, Miller isn’t the quite the caliber of player he once was, but he did record six sacks in 13 games for Buffalo last season. He is still a fine rotational pass rusher, and has loads of experience and veteran leadership to offer. A pass rushing group featuring Miller, Jones, George Karlaftis, Mike Danna, and Felix Anudike-Uzomah would be a really solid group.
