Packers Officially Announce Signing of CB Nate Hobbs, Controversial Salary -baro

The Green Bay Packers officially announced the signing of cornerback Nate Hobbs on Thursday, the second league day of the 2025 season. Hobbs agreed to terms with the Packers on Monday, the first day of the legal tampering period. But the roster move wasn’t official until the contract was signed during the new league year, which opened Wednesday.

Hobbs, a fifth-round pick of the Las Vegas Raiders in 2021, signed a four-year, $48 million deal. The contract includes a $16 million signing bonus. Hobbs, who is listed by the team at 6-0 and 195 pounds, is expected to be a versatile starter at cornerback who can play on the perimeter and in the slot for Jeff Hafley’s secondary.

Hobbs will wear No. 21. Cornerback Eric Stokes, who is leaving to sign with the Raiders, previously wore the number.

The Packers also agreed to terms with guard Aaron Banks on Monday, but his signing wasn’t made official on Thursday.
