As the 2025 NFL offseason kicked off, there were high hopes that the Green Bay Packers would adopt a highly proactive strategy. However, up until now, that hasn’t been the case. So far, Brian Gutekunst and the management have inked deals with only two players: offensive lineman Aaron Banks and cornerback Nate Hobbs.

While these acquisitions are expected to be valuable for the Packers, much remains to be done to complete the roster. A significant gap identified for the team entering free agency was enhancing their pass rush, yet Green Bay hasn’t achieved any success in the free agent market so far. Nonetheless, there remains a compelling opportunity for the Packers to explore if they choose to.

Rucker Haringey of FanSided has recommended that Green Bay should consider signing New York Giants free agent defensive end Azeez Ojulari. “The Packers were reportedly in trade discussions with the Giants to acquire Ojulari last season before he sustained an injury that ended his season.

It’s plausible they might revisit this option in free agency.” Ojulari concluded the 2024 season with the Giants after participating in 11 games, amassing 28 tackles, six sacks, and a fumble recovery. At only 24 years of age, Ojulari possesses significant potential for growth and honing his skills.

It would be a beneficial match, and it would be prudent for the Packers to contemplate this possibility. Anticipate Green Bay making one or two additional moves. The Packers won’t rush into a signing, but a player like Ojulari could very well present itself as an opportunity.
