BREAKING: Cowboys’ Potential Acquisition of George Pickens Hindered by Three Major Concerns. nhathung

FRISCO – With prominent players still available in free agency and the NFL Draft, the Dallas Cowboys have several ways to address their need for a receiver. Interestingly, some believe a trade might be in the cards.

The Wrightway Sports Network (admittedly, a lesser-known outlet) forecasts a blockbuster deal where the Cowboys acquire George Pickens from the Pittsburgh Steelers. While Dallas clearly needs a receiver, this scenario is hard to fathom. The so-called “insider” Marissa Myers (no disrespect intended, Marissa!) had a tough time crafting a solid argument for this prediction.

Here are three reasons why trading George Pickens to the Cowboys doesn’t add up: “From an outsider’s perspective, Dallas might not seem more appealing than Pittsburgh, but it does have a superior quarterback situation,” Myers said plainly. “With their talent, Dallas has the potential to swiftly recover from their 7-10 season that missed the playoffs, provided they piece everything together under new head coach Brian Schottenheimer.

Yet, making big splash trades isn’t typically how the Cowboys operate. The Cowboys are known for their calculated approach to managing the team. They generally draft effectively, nurture those players into stars, and then either let them go or re-sign them without splurging in free agency.

They don’t typically engage in real-world fantasy football by making whimsical trades for players like George Pickens. If Dallas were to make any trade this offseason, it would probably resemble their previous ones: acquiring seasoned and cost-effective players with previous first-round potential to fill the most obvious gaps.

Though Cowboys fans might wish for a bold move, Pickens doesn’t match that profile. Additionally, if Schottenheimer’s new role as head coach is mentioned, we should discuss the culture he aims to cultivate in Dallas, which doesn’t quite align with Pickens either.
