‘I Want to Retire a Raven’ – NFL Star Derrick Henry Makes His Future Clear, Declaring Loyalty to Baltimore After a Standout Season.THANHDUNG

Although last season’s journey for the Baltimore Ravens didn’t culminate in the ideal way, the team experienced numerous remarkable performances from its players. Among them, Derrick Henry emerged as a standout, prompting many to speculate about his future with the organization.

However, during Thursday night’s NFL Honors, the running back himself dispelled any uncertainties. In a conversation with Diana Russini of The Athletic, Henry was explicit about his aspirations when queried about his future: “I want to retire a Raven,” he declared. It is evident that Henry envisions spending his career’s twilight years in Baltimore, making it imperative to initiate negotiations to realize this dream. Henry is entering the final year of his contract with the Ravens, so talks regarding an extension should commence soon. Previously, Ravens’ GM Eric DeCosta commented on Henry’s status with the team: “I’m genuinely thankful that Derrick [Henry] joined us last year. His approach and gameplay were nothing short of extraordinary. His camaraderie with teammates, humility, and dedication were inspiring. I’m eager to see him next season.”

Reflecting on the season’s conclusion, DeCosta continued, “The way it ended was hard on him and all of us. Yet, it has motivated us to return with determination, to avoid a sluggish start like last year’s 0-2, and to hit the ground running. Derrick will be pivotal in that effort.” Henry, however, did not secure the Offensive Player of the Year award. At the awards ceremony, Baltimore Ravens’ disappointment was not limited to Lamar Jackson missing out on the MVP title. Henry, considered a strong candidate for Offensive Player of the Year, was outvoted by a fellow running back, leaving him without the accolade. Ultimately, Philadelphia Eagles’ RB Saquon Barkley, who also had a shot at the impending Super Bowl, received the OPOY honor. The former Giants player carried the ball 345 times throughout the season, accumulating 2,005 rushing yards, the highest in the NFL
