These movies about evil spirits at the bottom of the ocean are always a never-out-of-date Hollywood topic while still attracting a certain audience. But tragedy occurred after the appearance of a creature large and ferocious, enough to crush the hull of a submarine, taking the lives of two of his close friends. Five years after that traumatic incident, Jonas gave up his passion for scuba diving and buried himself in alcohol, until fate forced him to return: the super tyrant shark Megalodon suddenly appeared at the bottom. deep in the Pacific Ocean, threatening the lives of members of the Academy of Ocean Research who are conducting exploration in this sea. Jonas is their last and only hope.

Jason Statham shares: “I have a strong passion for the ocean and have pursued scuba diving for more than 20 years. The ocean is endless, so when falling into the water, everyone thinks the worst, especially a shark attack. No one wants to be a victim of this bloodthirsty carnivorous creature.” He also added when deciding to participate in The Meg project: “The first thing I always consider when choosing a script is whether I am suitable for this role or not. The role in the movie helps me satisfy the love I have for the world under the ocean and scuba diving. So this is really a great opportunity. Furthermore, the pace of the movie is also slower than other action movies I have participated in.

Maybe this is the first time I don’t have to participate in chases or gunfights in a movie (laughs).” He continued: “I’m used to killing someone, but Jonas is a character who has dedicated his life to saving the lives of others, I find that very interesting. Jonas has a great sense of humor and I think I can understand the emotions he was going through. And a role with strict physical requirements is something I am very familiar with. Therefore, I think I can fulfill this role well.”

In recent years, despite being older, Jason still actively participates in action movies, especially when he first appeared as the villain Deckard Shaw in part 7 of the Fast & Furious racing series, which brought New vitality, when through part 8 (originally titled The Fate of The Furious), his character had a strong transformation, becoming a main character.
