Twice already in the midst of awards season, Jennifer Aniston has draped her cleavage with glimmering chains from Amrit – jewelry known for its purportedly ‘sacred’ properties.
But it wasn’t enough to secure her some winning luck. Both times the 45-year-old Cake actress lost out to Julianne Moore for her Best Actress nominations; last night at the 2015 Screen Actors Awards and on January 15 at the Critics’ Choice Awards.
According to Amrit’s designer Sat Hari, the pricey ‘Make Love Black Diamond’ range of jewelry worn by Jennifer at both ceremonies represents ‘strength and completion’, and carries ‘deep symbolic meanings’ and ‘a sacred blessing for the wearer’.

Last night, Jennifer matched her jaw-dropping vintage Galliano gown with Amrit’s $5,200 Make Love Body Chain, studded with 29 black diamonds that touch ‘the heart chakra’ and boasting solid 14K lotus pendants engraved with the ‘Hu’ symbol.
The lotus, according to Amrit, evokes ‘awakening’ and the Hu is ‘an ancient sanskrit symbol representing the sound of God.’
At the Critics’ Choice Awards, Jennifer sported a stunning Gucci suit, again going bra-less with a plunging neckline, and this time wearing Amrit’s $1,800 Make Love Lariat Necklace.
Eleven black diamonds grace this piece – a number which represents ‘mastership’ in yoga, a deep passion of Jennifer’s.
Ms Hari, who owns Amrit, was raised in India where she says she lived ‘a very spiritually based lifestyle’, and later toured America with an internationally famous rock band as their personal healer.’
It was her last shot this year at nabbing a big award as she was resolutely snubbed by the Oscars for her lead performance in Cake.
If she was disappointed that she didn’t win the SAG Award, Jennifer didn’t show it.
However, there was a moment when Jennifer seemed to lose her usual reserve, and that was when she was speaking with Meryl Streep.
Meryl had whispered something in Jennifer’s ear, and Jennifer appeared to be on the verge of tears.
Julia Roberts sat nearby and later in the evening, she and Jennifer were seen enjoying a conversation with hands clasped.
Many critics saw Aniston fulfill potential first revealed in 2002’s art-house hit The Good Girl in an even darker, more daring role in the drama Cake.
