Bills GM’s Comments Resurface After Myles Garrett Trade Request.THANHDUNG

Cleveland Browns superstar defensive end Myles Garrett officially requested a trade off the only team he’s ever played for in the NFL on Monday. And in the wake of this decision, some old comments from Buffalo Bills general manager Brandon Beane quickly resurfaced on social media.

Garrett is fresh off another dominant campaign in 2024 that saw him earn his sixth Pro Bowl selection, and a spot on the All-Pro first team for the fourth time in his career. When explaining his decision to request a trade, Garrett made it clear that he wants to win, which is the primary reason he wants out of Cleveland.

“While I’ve loved calling this city my home, my desire to win and compete on the biggest stages won’t allow me to be complacent. The goal was never to go from Cleveland to Canton, it has always been to compete for and win a Super Bowl. With that in mind, I have requested to be traded from the Cleveland Browns,” Garrett said in his official statement.

One team that could be interested in Garrett is the Bills, after racking up only 39 sacks as a team in 2024. And after Garrett went public with his trade request, fans quickly dug up some old comments from Beane discussing whether or not the team would be interested in acquiring a superstar defensive lineman.

“I don’t know many teams that are going to hand you a Chris Jones or a game-wrecker. They’re probably sewed up … Would I love to add one of those guys? Heck yeah I would. But we have a cap, we pick where we pick, you’ve gotta make the best with what you’ve got,” Beane said when asked about potentially trading for a guy like Kansas City Chiefs defensive lineman Chris Jones.

Ironically enough, an opportunity to acquire that so-called “game-wrecker” could have landed right in front of Beane and the Bills. Garrett racked up 47 tackles, 14 sacks and a league-leading 22 tackles for a loss for the Browns in their 2024 campaign, which could make him a perfect option for Buffalo on the trade market.
