The Pittsburgh Steelers will wake up on Monday morning in a tie for the No. 2 seed in the AFC playoff picture, thanks to their Week 14 win over the Cleveland Browns on Sunday, and a loss by the Buffalo Bills later Sunday evening.
The Steelers took care of business at home, knocking off Cleveland, 27-14 at Acrisure Stadium and eliminating the Browns from the playoffs. The Bills were out on the West Coast, and struggled with the Los Angeles Rams, losing 44-42.
The loss brings the Steelers and Bills into a tie for the second playoff seed at 10-3. The teams have identical AFC records and have not played enough common opponents, but Buffalo holds the fourth tiebreaker, strength of victory.
The Steelers could not clinch a playoff berth this week, but will be able to in Week 15, with either a win over the Philadelphia Eagles, or help from elsewhere.
Pittsburgh might have a hard time pulling ahead of the Bills. While the Steelers go through the toughest part of their schedule with upcoming games against the Philadelphia Eagles, Baltimore Ravens and Kansas City Chiefs in an 11-day span, the Bills close with two games against the New England Patriots and one against the New York Jets, with their only remaining game against a playoff team coming in Week 15 against the Detroit Lions
