BREAKING: Packers’ Xavier McKinney slips in Pro Bowl voting.. – VC

McKinney now ranks second at free safety behind the Detroit Lions’ Kerby Joseph

Xavier McKinney justifies Packers' investment by getting 3 INTs in 1st 3 games with Green Bay | AP News

The NFL has announced its second tally of fan Pro Bowl voting, which accounts for one-third of the Pro Bowl’s total selection power along with the player vote and coach vote. No Green Bay Packers have been added or dropped out of the top 10 for any of their individual positions since the first count, but there are a couple of shake-ups.

First, safety Xavier McKinney, who we all thought was going to be a shoo-in as one of the league’s first-team All-Pro safeties after posting seven interceptions in 2024, is now second in the free safety voting behind the Detroit Lions’ Kerby Joseph. It seems as though Lions fans are furiously voting for their players to get in, based on the early turnout.

Aside from McKinney, the only other Packer who slid down the ballot between the first and second count was actually “special teams player” Zayne Anderson, who was ranked sixth last time but is seventh on the second count. Anderson, interestingly enough, might actually have to play some defense in the coming weeks, as rookie safety Evan Williams is still in the league’s concussion protocol after dropping out against the Lions on Thursday Night Football.

Risers for the Packers include tight end Tucker Kraft (10th to 7th), left guard Elgton Jenkins (8th to 7th), long snapper Matthew Orzech (7th to 6th) and “return specialist” Keisean Nixon (7th to 5th). The following players remained steady between the first and second counts: running back Josh Jacobs (4th), receiver Jayden Reed (8th), right tackle Zach Tom (10th), center Josh Myers (7th), defensive end Rashan Gary (9th), linebacker Quay Walker (6th), cornerback Jaire Alexander (5th) and punter Daniel Whelan (9th).
