There will obviously be a lot of talking about Browns quarterback Jameis Winston’s turnovers, especially coming off a three-interception, two-pick six performance against the Broncos. The ability to keep Winston upright will be another part of the conversation.
The last time these teams played, Winston was sacked just once, by outside linebacker Nick Herbig. It resulted in a fumble, but it was the only time Pittsburgh’s vaunted pass rush got to him.
That pass rush, if you’ll recall, includes T.J. Watt, one of the top edge rushers in the league. Watt went without a sack for just the second time in 13 career games against the Browns, and without a full sack for the third time.
If Winston can be kept relatively clean again, it’s been proven he can have success. If he is constantly under pressure, as Monday night showed, the results can be devastating.
