The football world got a clear look at Jackson’s diamond grills as he walked off the field following Baltimore’s 28-14 win over Pittsburgh in the wild-card round of the 2025 NFL playoffs.
Why does Lamar Jackson wear diamond grills?
Jackson’s choice to wear diamond grills is partly an homage to his hometown of Pompano Beach, Fla. He explained to GQ Sports in September.
“In Florida, we known for gold, to be honest with you — we get gold first,” Jackson said. “But, I was like ‘I’m older now, I might as well just skip the gold and just get my diamonds.’ That’s just what it was.”
Jackson explained he got his first grills in high school but did not wear them often because he was focused on making it to the NFL. Now that he has made it and is one of the game’s greatest players, Jackson is reveling in his success by wearing them as much as he can.
