Three adorable puppies found themselves in a dire situation – seeking shelter from the scorching sun inside a deflated tire located on a deserted road in Muscoy, California. Their chances of survival were slim in such a remote location and under the relentless heat. However, fate intervened when a kind soul noticed them and initiated their rescue journey.

A man, who accidentally took a wrong turn, spotted a matted white Terrier resting atop a pile of garbage. Recognizing the dangers of the scorching weather for the pups, he immediately contacted Faith Easdale, a local dog rescuer from Dream Fetchers: Project Rescue.

Sadly, such calls were all too familiar for Faith. “We see dogs dumped in various locations, and this area is particularly notorious,” she shared with The Dodo, highlighting the unfortunate reality of animal abandonment.

Faith promptly reached out to one of her fellow rescuers, Cassandra Aldridge, requesting her to check on the pups. Upon reaching the site, Cassandra located the white pup resting on the tire and was surprised to discover two more faces peering out from within.

The pups were severely dehydrated and lethargic, lacking the energy to move. Recognizing the urgency of the situation, Cassandra carefully retrieved the entire tire and placed it in her car, offering the pups much-needed shade and a temporary sanctuary.

At the scene, Faith encountered the pups scattered and apprehensive. With gentle coaxing and patience, she managed to lure them out, providing them with water and blankets. The pups, visibly relieved, huddled together for comfort.

Faith’s heart melted when she observed the white pup protectively resting his paws on the black one, who appeared to be recently pregnant. This heartwarming display of affection amidst their ordeal further solidified her commitment to their well-being.

The rescued pack was promptly transported to a nearby veterinary hospital for a thorough medical examination and rehydration. To facilitate their treatment records, the team creatively named them after different tire brands – Michelin, Pirelli, and Kumho.

Despite suffering from flea and tick infestations and skin patches missing due to scratching, the trio received the care they desperately needed. They underwent spaying/neutering, dental cleanings, and professional grooming, undoubtedly leaving them feeling refreshed and revitalized.

“Pirelli and Kumho were still lactating, while Michelin was initially withdrawn but gradually opened up,” shared Hedy Alison, the office manager at Camino Pet Hospital. “All three pups are incredibly loving and seem to be enjoying their newfound pampering. While Michelin remains somewhat aloof, there’s a spark of hope in his eyes.”

Once they received their vaccinations and microchips, the pups were placed in foster care, where they continued their recovery and rediscovered the joys of a happy life.

After thriving in their foster homes and making a complete recovery, the day arrived for the pups to find their forever homes!

Michelin, who initially presented the most concerning health issues, became the first to be adopted. Faith expressed her immense joy at this news, as she had harbored significant worries about him during the rescue. “This little tire pup was the one I feared might not even survive the trip to the hospital,” she shared in a Facebook post. “Thankfully, he recovered and received a second chance at life. He now has a loving forever home where he’ll be showered with affection.”

Pirelli and Kumho, the inseparable duo, also found their forever home together! They now reside in a luxurious mansion with a doting owner who adores them immensely.
