Unbridled Joy: This Dog Believes He’s a Horse, Spreading Happiness Wherever He Trots (Video)

Dog Thinks He’s a Horse and Brings Joy Everywhere He Goes

Have you ever seen a dog that thinks he’s a horse? Well, meet Doug, the dog who is convinced he belongs with the ponies. His owner, an equestrian, shares that Doug will sit in the stalls with the horses, eat their hay and even their brand mashes during feeding time. This pup has no fear and loves to be involved with the ponies, whether they are out in the turnout or on the hot walker.

Doug’s love for horses has earned him a special place in the barn. He is so comfortable around the horses that they have taken him on as one of their own. His owner shares that all of their horses have accepted Doug, and he even has a “brother” named Nigel, who traveled all the way from the United Kingdom. Nigel is gentle with Doug and even comforted him during a stressful time, becoming his little comfort animal.

When Doug’s owner saw his video, she fell in love with him instantly and knew she had to take him home. Since then, Doug has been her soul mate, best friend, and constant source of joy. Doug’s owner shares that he wakes up happy every day, and it’s impossible to have a bad day when you wake up next to him. Doug is always finding ways to make his owner and everyone around him laugh, and the more you laugh, the more he’ll do it.

Doug’s personality and love for horses have also earned him a job at the Orange County Fairgrounds. He goes to work with his owner and spends the whole day hanging out with her and the horses. Nigel takes great care of Doug and is always there to play and interact with him.

Overall, Doug’s story is a testament to the resilience of rescue dogs. Though he was once on the street and thin, he now lives a great life and is grateful for it. Doug’s love for horses and his infectious personality have made him an odd couple that brings joy and happiness wherever he goes.
