In the heartwarming world of animal rescue, every day brings its share of surprises and unexpected moments, and today was no exception! What was initially planned as an 8-dog rescue day turned into an even more joyous occasion with the addition of a bonus puppy – a little beagle girl who captured our hearts from the moment she entered our care.
This delightful 5-6 week old beagle found herself transitioning from a life outdoors surrounded by hunting dogs to the warmth and safety of our rescue. It’s a significant change that marks the beginning of a new chapter for this brave little soul. No longer will she endure the challenges of living outside 24/7, and the cycle of having litters of puppies is a part of her past that won’t define her future.
Despite her petite size, this little beagle is a powerhouse of personality. She exudes a fierce and mighty spirit that speaks to her resilience. Remarkably, she is the lone survivor from her litter, making her journey to becoming a Dogs Deserve Better (DDB) dog even more poignant and special.

Gina Troyer, a temporary foster mom, stepped up to provide a safe and loving environment for our bonus puppy. While she doesn’t have a name yet, Gina is already thinking of the perfect one that will suit her unique personality. The anticipation of discovering her new name adds an extra layer of excitement to this heartwarming rescue story.
