Jordan Love successfully guided the Green Bay Packers into the postseason during the 2024 NFL campaign, yet the squad was missing critical components to genuinely vie for a Super Bowl title. Acknowledging this, head coach Matt LaFleur, alongside the organization, has sanctioned alterations to the coaching team.
As the offseason progresses swiftly, the Packers are determined to construct a formidable squad around Love, who showcased remarkable skills in what marked his second most successful professional season, amassing 3,389 passing yards and delivering 25 touchdowns. In alignment with this, for the 2025 NFL season, the Packers have unveiled a number of new hires and internal promotions under LaFleur’s leadership.
DeMarcus Covington will take on the roles of defensive line coach and run game coordinator for Green Bay. Among other minor adjustments, Luke Getsy is joining the Packers as a senior assistant, Cory Harkey as special teams quality control coach, Jeremiah Kolone as an offensive assistant, Jeff Koonz as a defensive assistant, and Jamael Lett as a defensive quality control coach.
In terms of internal promotions within the Packers, several individuals have been elevated to significant positions. Sean Duggan has been promoted to linebackers coach, Sean Mannion to quarterbacks coach, and Connor Lewis has been appointed as the passing game coordinator and game management specialist.
Enhancing Love’s gameplay, the coaching modifications made by the Packers for 2025 are intended to expedite Jordan Love’s growth as the starting quarterback. A pivotal change is the elevation of Sean Mannion, who brings nearly a decade of NFL quarterback experience, now tasked with honing Love’s decision-making, precision, and field awareness.
