BREAKING: Aaron Boone asks management to burn Yankees fan’s face for chanting ‘f–k Juan Soto,’ says it tarnishes team’s reputation. nhathung

For Michael Kay, the discord between the Yankees and Juan Soto has finally subsided. However, for Yankees supporters, it seemingly lingers. During the Yankees’ 9-7 triumph over the Diamondbacks on Thursday, fans at Yankee Stadium started a chant of “f–k Juan Soto,” even though their former star had already moved to the Mets with a monumental 15-year, $765 million contract.

New York Mets right fielder Juan Soto (22), doubles in the 6th inning on April 4, 2025.

On Friday, Yankees commentator Michael Kay expressed his frustration with the fans over this chant on his radio program, “The Michael Kay Show.” Surprisingly, his ire wasn’t due to the vulgarity.

“We often hear this trivial exchange about big brother and little brother. What took place yesterday, everyone?” Kay questioned. “I regret to say it, and you might not appreciate it. That was little brother behavior,” Kay fumed. “Why are you fixating on Juan Soto? Your team is ahead. And that’s all you can muster? You should feel somewhat ashamed. “Shame on all of you.

Truly, shame on every one of you. It’s such a diminutive display…You remain the big brother. The Mets haven’t achieved anything significant. They merely won a bidding contest for Juan Soto. Their last championship was in 1986. It’s been 39 years since they clinched a title, and yet you’re chanting blank Juan Soto? I fail to understand. Consider me perplexed.

I don’t comprehend it, and it’s a poor reflection. A very poor reflection…I believe it’s a terrible, terrible reflection on all of you. All of you! And I would have addressed it yesterday if I had actually heard it through my headphones.”

The Mets (4-3) are above the .500 mark for the first time this season after their home opener victory, but they do not match the 5-2 Yankees, who are off to a blazing start, with their powerful hitting performance being widely discussed throughout the league.
