In a heated and chaotic scene at Progressive Field, multiple Cleveland Guardians fans were ejected after relentlessly booing and even throwing objects at Boston Red Sox star outfielder Jarren Duran during the Red Sox’s dominant 13-3 victory on Monday night.

The incident unfolded in the bottom of the sixth inning, shortly after Duran crushed a three-run homer to extend Boston’s already lopsided lead. As Duran rounded the bases, a chorus of boos erupted from a section of Guardians fans, growing louder with every step. Witnesses say that a few fans escalated the situation by tossing cups, caps, and even a plastic water bottle onto the field in Duran’s direction.

Security immediately intervened, identifying and escorting several unruly fans out of the stadium. According to reports from field-level staff, at least four individuals were removed, and no injuries were reported.

After the game, Duran addressed the situation briefly.
“I get it — they’re passionate. But there’s no place for throwing things,” he said. “I’m just out here playing the game I love.”

Red Sox manager Alex Cora praised Duran’s composure, calling the fans’ behavior “disappointing but not surprising.”
“He stayed locked in. Jarren’s a pro, and tonight he showed it in more ways than one,” Cora said.

The Guardians organization later released a statement condemning the behavior, emphasizing their commitment to a safe and respectful environment at Progressive Field.

The Red Sox, fueled by Duran’s big night, now ride a four-game winning streak as they continue their road trip. Meanwhile, the Guardians will be looking to regroup — both on and off the field — after an embarrassing night that went far beyond the scoreboard.
