Juan Martin del Potro talked in length about his daily struggles ahead of his match against Novak Djokovic in an exhibition event.

Juan Martin del Potro is still struggling with injury problems. Even after retirement, he is suffering daily, from pain, from his inability to play tennis or any other sports, as he revealed in a video in detail about everything he has gone through since the final match of his career at the Buenos Aires in February 2022.
He lost to compatriot Federico Delbonis that match which was a bad memory for him, for he didn’t want to say goodbye to tennis in that manner. After that match against Delbonis, although he stopped hearing questions from the journalist about his comeback, it didn’t lessen his struggles at all, for his body has not yet recovered. Doctors have even advised him to get a prosthesis.
He tried his all, that is, underwent multiple surgeries to get back on court but the knee injury defeated him. Del Potro had his first surgery in June 2019 after injuring his knee for the first time in 2018 and then during the 2019 Queen’s Club Championships.Watch the video here:
When he had his fifth surgery, the doctors advised him for another and he went to the USA to recover. He recalled having over 100 injections and other treatments including nerve burns and tendon blocks.
Juan Martin del Potro wants to forget his last match and for the same, he will be playing an exhibition event on December 1 in Buenos Aires. In the exhibition match, ‘The Final Challenge’, he will be locking horns with Novak Djokovic. In that aforementioned video, the Argentine explained how he started to prepare himself for the upcoming match.
The Serb has faced del Potro 20 times and leads 16-4 in their head-to-head encounter. They last faced in the 2019 Italian Open which Nole won in three sets.
