The Miami Dolphins have informed former Pro-Bowl running back Raheem Mostert that they are releasing him, according to his agent, Brett Tessler.ANHTRUC.

The Miami Dolphins have released veteran running back Raheem Mostert, as announced by his agent, Brett Tessler, on February 14, 2025. This move is part of the team’s efforts to adjust their roster and salary cap ahead of the upcoming NFL season.

Mostert, who will turn 33 in April, joined the Dolphins in 2022 after a notable tenure with the San Francisco 49ers. During his time in Miami, he made a significant impact, especially in the 2023 season when he rushed for a career-high 1,012 yards and led the NFL with 21 total touchdowns, earning his first Pro Bowl selection. However, his performance declined in the 2024 season, recording 278 rushing yards and two touchdowns over 13 games. This decline, coupled with the emergence of younger talents like De’Von Achane and rookie Jaylen Wright, influenced the Dolphins’ decision to release Mostert. The move is expected to free up approximately $2.9 million in salary cap space for the team.

In addition to Mostert, the Dolphins have also released cornerback Kendall Fuller and tight end Durham Smythe, signaling a broader strategy to reshape the team’s roster and financial commitments.

Agent Brett Tessler expressed gratitude for Mostert’s time with the Dolphins, stating, “Very thankful for his time with the Miami Dolphins, and this gives them a chance to get younger and gives him a chance to pursue a ring elsewhere.”

As Mostert enters free agency, his experience and previous successes make him a valuable prospect for teams seeking to bolster their backfield with a seasoned and dynamic running back.
