4 NFL Draft first-round prospects the Kansas City Chiefs could target to replace Joe Thuney on the offensive line.

The Kansas City Chiefs still have holes to patch in their offensive line, especially after saying goodbye to Joe Thuney. With the 2025 NFL Draft approaching, it’s time to start eyeing some long-term insurance for the left side of the trench wall.

Thuney held down the left guard spot like a vault door for most of the season. He made his third straight Pro Bowl and earned back-to-back All-Pro nods, anchoring the line with textbook technique and bulldog toughness.

But when Kansas City’s left tackle situation started springing leaks, the team handed Thuney a bigger mop. He slid over to tackle for the final three games and playoffs, covering Patrick Mahomes’ blindside like a human insurance policy.

Still, cap space rules the kingdom. The Chiefs dealt Thuney to the Chicago Bears in a money-saving move. To plug the immediate hole, they signed Jaylon Moore from the San Francisco 49ers. He’s penciled in at left tackle, but the Chiefs would be wise to double-dip in the draft, especially with a first-rounder.

Moore filled in admirably at left tackle for the 49ers last year. The Chiefs are giving him the opportunity to become a full-time player, but they should have an insurance policy at the very least.

A couple of prime offensive tackle prospects should be available when the Chiefs are on the clock with the 31st overall pick. However, they could also move up to the early or mid-20s if they want to get a better prospect.

If Kansas City wants to build another championship wall, here are four first-round offensive line prospects who could help pour the foundation.
