Why the 49ers Should Pursue Garrett
If the 49ers could somehow acquire Garrett, their defense would reach historic levels of dominance. The mere thought of pairing him with Nick Bosa is terrifying for opposing offenses. Garrett is arguably the best defensive player in the league, and having Bosa as the team’s second-best defensive lineman would be a scenario straight out of a coach’s dream.
A Garrett-Bosa duo would create an All-Pro-caliber defensive front that could single-handedly dictate games. The 49ers already boast one of the NFL’s best defenses, but adding Garrett would elevate them to an unstoppable force.

As exciting as the idea of Garrett joining the 49ers may be, the logistics of making a deal happen are complicated. Financially, it would be nearly impossible to fit his massive contract into a payroll that already includes upcoming deals for Brock Purdy and possibly George Kittle.
