Aaron Rodgers’ response to mentoring a QB will make Packers fans roll their eyes (VIDEO)-baobao

Aaron Rodgers left the Green Bay Packers during the 2023 offseason and things have not gone according to plan for him and his new team. Rodgers went down just four plays into his New York Jets debut and missed the entire year, and then this season led to him and the Jets underwhelming and winning just four games.

Needless to say, the Jets are probably going to move on from Rodgers after the 2024 season. That hasn’t stopped the long-time Packers quarterback from thinking that he’s still going to be a Jet come 2025.

During Rodgers’ discussion with the media on Wednesday, the Jets quarterback was asked how he’d feel if the team wanted to keep him but also planned to draft a quarterback.

“If they ask me back and drafted a guy, I’d mentor the hell out of him if I was playing and I’d try to play as well as I could to keep him on the bench,” said Rodgers.

Aaron Rodgers’ attitude about mentoring a QB has changed since leaving the Packers

This was a far different attitude than the one Rodgers had when the Packers drafted Jordan Love with their first-round pick in 2020. Now, of course, a lot has changed since then. Rodgers was coming off a solid season in 2019 and still had the Packers as Super Bowl contenders every year.

Fast forward to the present day, and Rodgers isn’t that quarterback anymore. The Jets were supposed to be a Super Bowl contender with him under center, but that has not been anywhere close to what’s happened. The Jets have been the same old Jets, and Rodgers has looked like a 41-year-old quarterback coming off an Achilles injury.

One thing has become clear since the Packers shipped Rodgers off to New York, and that’s that the Packers 100% made the right decision in trading him when they did. Love has taken over and done great things as the Packers quarterback, while Rodgers has floundered with his new team. You can’t write it up any better than that.
