Alexander Zverev doesn’t want any change in his team at least till his campaigns in Australia. He is currently coached by his father, Alexander Zverev Sr. The German player however wants to hire compatriot Boris Becker as his coach as he revealed the same in an interview.

Although Zverev is in contact with Becker, he doesn’t know much about how the coach travels. Zverev is yet to win a Grand Slam title, reaching the final twice in the 2020 US Open and the 2024 French Open. He holds the German coach in high regard as the latter has also coached Novak Djokovic to six majors.

Apart from coaching Djokovic (from 2013 to 2016), the 57-year-old was in Holger Rune‘s entourage as well. The Dane hired Becker in October 2023 but their collaboration lasted only till February 2024 as the latter had other responsibilities.

Alexander Zverev reached his ranking of No.2 this season and he was satisfied with the way he performed after making a comeback from an ankle injury he suffered at the 2022 French Open. Zverev was playing against eventual champion Rafael Nadal in the semifinal when he tore three ligaments in his right ankle.

Last year, he won 55-27 on the tour with two titles (in Hamburg and Chengdu). In 2024 however, Zverev wrapped up his season at the ATP Tour Finals.

He won all three of his group-stage matches but lost in three sets to American Taylor Fritz in the semifinals. The 27-year-old, who had a 69-21 win-loss record in 2024, won Masters 1000 titles, the Italian Open and Paris Masters.
