Andy Reid has great news about Chiefs’ left tackle concerns from NFL Combine.

From the outside looking in, the left tackle position for the Kansas City Chiefs is a key spot on the roster that needs to be addressed this offseason. Clearly the Chiefs believe the same thing internally.

As Andy Reid spoke at the 2025 NFL Combine, it wasn’t surprising to hear him answer questions about the team’s plans at left tackle going forward into the 2025 season. His response? “We’re keeping everything wide open.”

That’s good news for Chiefs fans who are hoping for some real changes up front to alleviate the ongoing concerns (and the carousel of candidates) at the position during Patrick Mahomes’ tenure.

“It becomes more difficult, and that’s why the league is so great—the more you win, the harder it’s supposed to be—and so when you have a bunch of guys who are the top of the market for their position and you pick last or close to last every year, it becomes very challenging. We just have to think outside the box and put some creative plans together,” said Brett Veach, the team’s general manager, from the Combine.

The Chiefs have already drafted Wanya Morris (third round in 2023 NFL Draft) and Kingsley Suamataia (second round in 2024 NFL Draft) in house to compete for a role on the left side. In the past, the team has paired a prospect with an experienced veteran like Donovan Smith or D.J. Humphries. However, most fans would like to see some sort of long-term answer in front of Patrick Mahomes.

As for left guard Joe Thuney who manned the left tackle role through the postseason after previous candidates tried and failed (or were too inju
