Quarterback Baker Mayfield is having the best season of his NFL career during his second season with the Buccaneers. So far this season, he’s thrown for 4,279 yards with 39 touchdowns and 15 interceptions. He’s rushed for another 310 yards with three scores, as well.
On Sunday, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers are taking on the New Orleans Saints in an important Week 18 matchup. A win for Tampa would secure the NFC South title, as well as guarantee a playoff spot for a fifth straight season.
Playoff implications aside, Mayfield can also earn some major contract bonuses today. Let’s take a look at what the Bucs’ signal-caller needs to do to earn some extra cash in incentives on Sunday.
According to Greg Auman of Fox Sports, Mayfield will get $500,000 if he finishes inside the top-10 in the league, or inside the top-five in the NFC for key passing metrics. Here are those metrics, as well as where Mayfield currently ranks in each of them:

- Touchdown passes: tied for second in NFL, first in NFC ($500,000)

In total, that puts him in-line to earn an extra $2.5 million in contract incentives today.

Mayfield will also earn a $500,000 bonus if Tampa makes the playoffs. The Bucs will earn a playoff spot with a win over New Orleans. Tampa Bay also will get a playoff spot with a tie vs. the Saints and an Atlanta Falcons loss, or if the Falcons lose to the Panthers.
