The Dallas Cowboys lost cornerback Jourdan Lewis on the first day of free agency to a historic contract offer from the Jacksonville Jaguars.
Ian Rapoport of NFL Network broke the news via an X post on Monday morning, March 10.
“The [Jaguars] are signing Jourdan Lewis, per ‘The Insiders’ and [Peter Schrager],” Rapoport wrote. “He becomes the NFL’s highest paid nickel CB.”
Lewis took to social media himself on Monday evening with a four-word message for the Cowboys organization and its fans, as he prepares to depart for a $30 million payday in Jacksonville.
“Cowboys nation, thank you 🙏,” Lewis wrote on X.
Lewis started 64 games and made 115 appearances across his time in Dallas. He tallied 44 pass breakups, 10 interceptions, 9.5 sacks and 5 forced fumbles during his Cowboys tenure.
