BIG UPDATE: 49ers signing DB Siran Neal to a 2-year deal -baro

According to NFL Network’s Cameron Wolfe, the San Francisco 49ers are signing veteran defensive back and special teams contributor Siran Neal to a two-year contract.

Great 49ers gift ideas

Neal, 30, has played at least 80% of the special teams snaps between the Buffalo Bills and Miami Dolphins over the past two seasons and logged at least 316 special teams snaps in each of the past three seasons. He has appeared in 114 career games.

The Bills selected Neal (6-0, 206) in the fifth round of the 2018 NFL Draft out of Jacksonville State. He has logged 2,086 special teams snaps and 625 defensive snaps over his career.

The 49ers’ special teams unit struggled last season, prompting the team to fire coordinator Brian Schneider and replace him with Brant Boyer.
