The Packers are in dire need of a seasoned edge player for 2025, and Watt, who hails from Wisconsin, seems like a perfect fit. Recent trade rumors surrounding Watt arose after he shared a mysterious image on Instagram of him flashing a peace sign as he exited the field. The five-time All-Pro has only one year left on his contract, and his recent social media activity hints that talks with the Steelers might not be progressing smoothly.
Moreover, Steelers beat journalist Mark Kaboly mentioned that it’s worth monitoring Watt’s situation in Pittsburgh. “After speaking to sources, I’d suggest keeping an eye on this T.J. Watt contract scenario with the Steelers,” Kaboly noted. “The Instagram image he shared yesterday seemingly wasn’t random.” Should Watt become available for trade, the Packers should make a concerted effort to secure him.
The 30-year-old, who is arguably the top defensive player in the league and has led in sacks three times, could significantly boost the team’s prospects.
