Bills Star Clinches Million-Dollar Bonus in Meaningless Game..anhtruc.

The Buffalo Bills are perched comfortably as the No. 2 seed in the AFC, and as they take on the New England Patriots in Week 18, the focus shifts from the typical playoff race drama to something different: paydays and pride.

For some players, this game is a chance to cash in on those carefully worded contract incentives tied to individual performance. While some fan favorites are getting a rest, others are hitting the field with personal milestones in their sights. Here’s how a few of the Bills are making their final regular-season game pay off.

Von Miller Bags a Bonus with a Sack

Let’s kick things off with linebacker Von Miller. Heading into this game, he needed just one more sack to nab a hefty $1.5 million bonus.

And he wasted no time. On just the third play of the game, Miller made his move.

As Patriots QB Drake Maye stumbled over a lineman, Miller swooped in for the sack, adding a lucrative cherry on top of a solid season.

Mack Hollins Makes the Catch

Wide receiver Mack Hollins found himself in a sweet spot with two early catches that brought his season total to 30 receptions, putting an extra $50k in his pocket. Hollins, who’s signed with Buffalo on a budget-friendly deal, has certainly made his presence felt with a team-leading five touchdown receptions.

Sam Martin Puts on a Punting Clinic

Then there’s the cool-headed punter, Sam Martin. He was just one clutch punt away from pocketing an additional $100k.

The last punt of the second quarter fell short, but head coach Sean McDermott trusted Martin to get another shot. And deliver he did, thanks in part to some spectacular hustle from Ja’Marcus Ingram, who kept the ball from bouncing into the end zone, downing it at the Patriots’ 6-yard line.

McDermott was all praise for his punter and Ingram, acknowledging the effort that sealed Martin’s inside-the-20 punt bonus. “A great effort from Ingram,” McDermott noted, “Ja’Marcus is the kind of player you want on your team.”

James Cook Chases Glory

Running back James Cook was more about cementing his name in the annals of Bills’ history rather than chasing incentives. Cook was subbed back in during a second-and-goal at the Patriots’ 1-yard line and punched it in for his 16th rushing touchdown of the year.

With that score, Cook ties O.J. Simpson’s 1975 franchise record for rushing touchdowns in a single season.

Inactives Missing Out on Extras

Not every player could cash in on a solid season. Despite being just a half sack away from a nice $250k bonus, DaQuan Jones sat this one out. Cornerback Taron Johnson also watched from the sidelines, though one more interception would’ve netted him the same $250k reward.

More Bills Eyeing Payday Opportunities

A few more players had incentives dangling like carrots heading into this game. Von Miller again was highlighted, having already capitalized on his opportunity.

Dawson Knox needed some additional receptions and yardage, while A.J. Epenesa and Cam Lewis eyed their incentives tied to playing time.

So while the Bills are secure in their playoff position, Week 18 served up a different kind of stakes—a chance for players to show their skill, earn that extra cash, and maybe even carve out a slice of history. Fans will be eagerly watching to see just who—on the field or off—gets that last-minute win.
