Bills Thursday injury report: Key secondary players at risk of not playing.TS.THANHDUNG

We are three days away from a major showdown in Detroit between the Buffalo Bills and Detroit Lions. The Bills are looking to bounce back from their heartbreaking Week 14 loss in Los Angeles while the Lions are looking to keep the No. 1 seed in the NFC on their side. A lot of people will say that this is a Super Bowl preview, but nothing is guaranteed until it officially happens.

At the same time, a lot of fans would love this Super Bowl matchup just given the overall history of each franchise. The Bills have been stable since Sean McDermott arrived in 2017 and the Lions have created a fantastic culture on Dan Campbell, who almost led the Lions to the Super Bowl last season.

Both teams are each fighting for something in this game, but there is a chance where the Bills come into this game once again on the wrong side of the injury report. According to the Buffalo Bills PR team, there are three key defensive players who have yet to practice this week; Taylor Rapp, Rasul Douglas, and Damar Hamlin.

Buffalo Bills may head into Detroit without three secondary starters

If the Bills take the field this Sunday without three of their starters in the secondary, this defense is in for a very long day. With the performance that the Bills’ defense put on last Sunday against the Rams, they need to bounce back big time. The unfortunate part is that they have to do it against a top offensive unit that can pass and run the ball effectively.

The Bills’ achilles heel is their run-defense and they will have to find a way to slow down the best 1-2 punch in the league with David Montgomery and Jahmyr Gibbs. Now the secondary, possibly down some impactful players, has to worry about players like Amon-Ra St. Brown, Sam LaPorta and Jameson Williams.

As of now, this is starting to lean towards a Josh Allen having to play Superman type of game. Buffalo’s defensive line has to find a way to pressure Jared Goff consistently to help out the secondary if they want a shot at slowing down this powerful Lions offense.
