BREAKING: Bills Free Agency Splurge Causing Grading Confusion.THANHDUNG

The Buffalo Bills’ offseason has seen general manager Brandon Beane work feverishly on retaining key players, which he managed to do with Greg Rousseau, Terrel Bernard, Khalil Shakir, and the re-signing of Josh Allen all completed.

As far as incomings, Joey Bosa and Joshua Palmer headline the group, with Michael Hoecht, Laviska Shenault Jr., and Larry Ogunjobi also walking through the doors.

So with a need to get Allen a new receiver, Palmer, who brings home run speed, is added to Joe Brady’s offense, while Bosa will hopefully bring some much-needed pass rush juice to Sean McDermott’s defense.

When grading the Bills’ free agency dealings, it is causing quite the bit of confusion as ESPN’s Eric Moody sees the franchise as taking a step backward, while CBS Sports has given Buffalo a B+ grade.

“The Bills’ offseason was more about extending current players, like quarterback Josh Allen, wide receiver Khalil Shakir, linebacker Terrel Bernard and pass rusher Greg Rousseau,” CBS Sports writes. “The Bills still have some needs in the secondary, but as far as the current additions go, Palmer’s best football may be ahead of him and Bosa could thrive with this change of scenery despite the high price tag.”

Obviously, these grades are subjective, but in Palmer, the Bills upgraded at their third receiver spot, while Bosa, if he can become “Bosa,” is a good replacement and even an upgrade for the aging Von Miller.

So, depending on how you view the Bills, they could have improved slightly or, for Moody, taken a step back, but they are still in the hunt for the AFC alongside the Kansas City Chiefs.

We won’t go as far as to say the Bills have closed the gap, but it certainly hasn’t gotten wider after free agency.
