On Monday, the Celtics revealed some historic news about their players’ achievements throughout the regular season, including a notable milestone for Jayson Tatum.
Tatum has become the first player since Larry Bird to lead the Celtics in points, rebounds, assists, and steals multiple times in a season. Additionally, Tatum, along with Derrick White and Payton Pritchard, achieved a historic feat as the trio combined to make the most 3-pointers in a single season for the Celtics.
Jayson Tatum has solidified his place as one of the NBA’s premier players. Despite occasionally facing unnecessary scrutiny, he has consistently been the best player on one of the league’s top teams and the defending champions.
This season, Tatum has been exceptional, averaging 26.8 points, 8.7 rebounds, 6.0 assists, and 1.1 steals across 36.4 minutes per game. He’s shooting 45.2% from the field, 34.3% from beyond the arc, and 81.4% from the free-throw line.
The former Duke standout has been selected to six consecutive All-Star Games since entering the league in 2017, when he won Rookie of the Year. He’s also earned four straight All-NBA honors and is on track to make it five this season.
