BREAKING: Chiefs prevent Hollywood Brown from testing free agency by completing 1-year deal.

You can go ahead and stop the speculation on where Hollywood Brown might end up in free agency. He’s not going anywhere. For a little while now, people assumed that the Kansas City Chiefs receiver would end up signing elsewhere, but Brett Veach isn’t ready to see him leave town just yet.

In what’s going to be a key offseason for the Chiefs, Veach has brought back Brown on a one-year deal. According to Ian Rapoport and Tom Pelissero, Kansas City has given the speedster a new contract worth up to $11 million.

BREAKING: Chiefs Re-Signing Wide Receiver

The 5-9, 180-pounder was set to become an unrestricted free agent this month, but that’s now off the table. Last offseason, Brown, previously with the Cardinals and Ravens, signed a one-year deal with KC and fans were hoping he’d become a top target for Patrick Mahomes.

However, Brown suffered a serious shoulder injury during the preseason and he missed the majority of the campaign. He was able to get himself back to full health for the end of the regular season and the playoffs, but he wasn’t able to fully showcase what he could get done for Andy Reid and Co.

This is something the Chiefs understood, which is why they’re bringing back the former first-round pick. With Travis Kelce also delaying retirement and deciding to suit up in 2025, it feels like the band is getting back together on offense, though more pass-catchers will be needed to help out Mahomes.

Come next fall and winter, Brown is going to want to remind everyone of how special he can be with the ball in his hands. The 2024 campaign didn’t go to plan for him, but the Chiefs are ready to invest in him to deliver in ’25. Only time will tell if this new deal pays off for Veach or not.
