BREAKING: Chiefs Star Levels New Allegations Against Wife in Nasty Conflict…TS.DHUNG.

Kansas City Chiefs Star Xavier Worthy Levels New Allegations Against Wife in Nasty Conflict - Athlon Sports

The woman who accused Kansas City Chiefs star receiver Xavier Worthy of felony assault on March 7 was granted a temporary protective order against him this week.

But Worthy is now responding by claiming that his wife has been the “aggressor” in their conflict … and that while he was in jail this week, she stole his property from inside his home.

Tia Jones, Worthy’s wife, filed for the protective order because she claimed Worthy violently put his hands on her at least five different times over the last year, according to TMZ.

In the order, Jones claims Worthy grabbed her throat with two hands and shook her in an incident around Valentine’s Day when the two were arguing over his alleged infidelity. She also filed that their most recent – and most violent – physical altercation took place March 7, which led to his arrest.

Worthy was booked on a charge of assaulting a family/household member while impeding their breath or circulation. Williamson County authorities, however, decided last weekend not to charge him.

Jones’s lawyer, Angelica Cogliano, said this week that claims of the police investigation around Worthy being closed are “patently false.” She said her client’s protective order will remain in place until a hearing April 1.

Worthy has denied each allegation issued by Jones since his arrest.

“Unfortunately, false allegations continue to be made, this time in civil court,” Worthy’s attorney Sam Bassett said. “Today, the accuser returned items stolen from Mr. Worthy’s residence while he was in jail and there are items still missing from when he was incarcerated. Mr. Worthy maintains his innocence and stands by the conclusions of the district attorney after law enforcement’s review of Ms. Jones’ unfounded allegations.”

Worthy’s counter?

“It is Ms. Jones who has been the aggressor against Mr. Worthy in their relationship,” Worthy’s lawyers write. “Mr. Worthy had hoped that he would have a long-term relationship with Ms. Jones … and it is a sad commentary that after she has been asked to leave his residence on multiple occasions, that she refused to leave and now continues to make false allegations and defamatory statements to extort him.

“While Mr. Worthy was in jail, we have evidence that Ms. Jones and some of her associates removed valuable items from Mr. Worthy’s home. He is the sole owner of the home. …

A number of reports say that they are engaged, but it seems the two were married in July 2024.

The Chiefs and the NFL released statements indicating they are aware of the matter and are in the fact-finding mode.

Worthy was the Chiefs’ first-round draft pick in 2024 and had a productive rookie season with 742 total yards and nine total touchdowns.
